Using the Leaderboards API, it's possible to determine the number of people who have scores on the leaderboards for every song. This is an indicator of the popularity of the songs. I have used this data to sort the songs from most popular to least popular, based on the XBox data. The results are likely to be different on the PS3 and Wii.

The two possibilities for the songs that came in at 0 are that no one has played them or that the leaderboards are broken. At least some of the songs with 0 scores have scores on the other systems, which makes me think it's a problem with the leaderboards. Yeah, just odd that nobody's played it in RB3 (or at least the leaderboard data is saying that).

A lot of people obviously purchased it since it's one of the songs that was released on the PS3 (and I think Wii too). It was one of the first songs I played in RB3, that's the kind of music I grew up with for a long period of time, and exclusively listened to until getting into RB.

Something else to consider, my song only has 113 scores but has sold over double that amount of downloads. Not sure what that means in the big picture of things. One thing to keep in mind is that this only reflects players who have posted scores to the leaderboards in RB3 on XBox. Anyone who has RB2 but not RB3, who has downloaded a song but not played it, or has only played it when not signed in to XBox Live will not be shown here. As a result, these numbers reflect the popularity of how many people are actually playing each song in RB3, rather than how many people have purchased each song. I still have about 150 songs I haven't played yet, including some on disc songs. The striking thing to me is the variability in the number of scores for each on disc song.

Many people apparently never play some songs which came with the game. The total number of people on the RB3 leaderboards for XBox is 439500, but no individual song has close to that many scores.

Is there any particular reason why once a song gets a 1000 submitted scores that it only from there on in registers scores on this tracking system in multiples of a hundred? The leaderboards API only gives the top 1% of scores for any song with more than 1000 scores. So to get the total number of scores, I multiply by 100. I think I am correctly determining which songs the leaderboards give all scores and which are giving the top 1%, but there may be errors. If any numbers look suspicious, let me know and I can try to double check. Good to see that the leaderboard APIs are back up and functioning (mostly).
